You'll never know what you're going to run into out there on the deep blue water. We were 20 miles out, hardly any landmass in sight, and the least you expected to pop out of a kelp paddy is a beautiful tweety bird. This bird was quite friendly and if it could talk, I bet it has lots of fishing stories to tell. Me and the wifey observed and enjoyed the company of little tweety. It seemed like this bird was quite happy to bump into us as much as we did. It stayed with us for an hour. Curiously, we felt like this bird has done this many times before, hopping on-board an angler's boat that passes by. A true salty! It would perch on my boat's steering wheel and look at the fish finder as if checking where the fish are. It'll then hop on the rod with the line in the water as if waiting for the bite. It did this many times. We were pretty much occupied with the bird's antics. Then all of a sudden it flew and landed on a distant kelp paddy. We felt privileged to have an unscheduled visit by little tweety. It made our day!
